The census records people in England and Wales and information about the make-up of local neighbourhoods.

Around 25 million households will be asked about work, health, national identity, citizenship, ethnic background, education, second homes, language, marital status and so on. The answers will be turned into statistics used to build a picture of today's society.

These statistics are really important in understanding people's needs and making sure all communities get the services they need where they live.

Fylde Council wants your view on Town and Parish Councils within Fylde Borough. Questions include:
Do you feel that the area covered by your parish or town council represents the community that you live in?

If you live in Ansdell and Lytham you do not have a parish council. Should the Council consider parishing these areas?

Are you happy with current arrangements?

To help us understand the issues, and offer informed comments, the Council's Head of Governance, Ian Curtis has agreed to speak to us

EXHIBITION

England's first officially recognised air display took place on land just South of Squires Gate Lane, on 18th October 1909.

A hundred years and a great deal of progress later, the North's leading aviation and heritage will tell the story of that progress.

The event is organised by the St Anne's Chamber of Trade and Commerce

SAVE NORTH BEACH
CAR PARK

Fylde Borough Council  submitted planning applications to close the car park and build housing on the site which would result in the loss of this valuable community amenity.

A Public Meeting was held in the United Reformed Church Hall, St Annes. It was open to all.

The aim was for the public and local councillors to have their say on the future of the North Beach car park.

FREE
Groups Conference

We held a well attended free conference for Fylde groups aimed at officials and committee members of existing groups, and for anyone wanting to start up a new community group.

The keynote speakers provided information about funding and grant aid available, and there are workshops about using the internet and email to get your group's message out, plus a Media and PR workshop to help with press releases etc, and a 'how to set up and establish a new group' workshop.
